The hard drive of the PS3 is used for all kinds of content so it is always
better to have a hard drive, the primary use is for saving games but you can
also store lots of other things on it. These include MP3's and videos and these
can be large and require allot of hard drive space, 40GB is allot though so
will be enough to hold lots of MP3's and videos. You can also download content
from the online PS3 service which you also store on the hard drive such as
